YTB President Abdullah Eren stated that Syrian graduates who received education in Turkey played critical roles in the reconstruction of his country and wished success to the newly appointed foreign minister, who is a Turkish graduate, and the governor of Aleppo, who is a Turkish graduate.
Following the end of the Baath regime in Syria, the country has entered a historic period. Turkish graduates are also taking on important roles in the process of rebuilding Syria. In the new term, Esad Hasan Eş-Şeybani, a graduate of Istanbul Sabahattin Zaim University, was appointed as the Syrian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, while Azzam Gharib, a graduate of Bingöl University Faculty of Theology, was appointed as the Governor of Aleppo. Abdullah Eren, the President of Turks Abroad and Related Communities (YTB), also made important statements on his social media account regarding the education support and regional cooperation provided by Turkey.
YTB President Eren drew attention to the fact that after the end of the 61-year Baath regime in Syria, the country entered a historic transformation process. Eren explained that the educational support provided by Turkey as a result of the Turkey Scholarships and Turkey Graduates programs coordinated by YTB constituted one of the important building blocks of this process.
Eren, who stated that Syrian graduates who received education in Turkey played critical roles in the reconstruction of his country, said, “Turkish graduates have great meaning both for the brother Syrian people and for Turkey-Syria relations. We are pleased that Esad Hasan Eş-Şeybani, a graduate of Istanbul Sabahattin Zaim University, will serve as the Syrian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, and Azzam Gharib, a graduate of Bingöl University Faculty of Theology, will serve as the Governor of Aleppo in this critical period that constitutes a historical turning point. I believe that both names will take important steps that will shape the future of Syria.”
