YTB sheds light on the Armenian issue in the shadow of historical sites
The Presidency for Turks Abroad and Related Communities (YTB) organized the "Eastern Anatolia Culture and History Program" so that young Turks residing abroad can discover places that shed light on our civilization and learn detailed information about the Armenian issue as a result of academic studies.

The "Eastern Anatolia Culture and History Program" was launched by the Presidency for Turks Abroad and Related Communities (YTB) so that young Turks living abroad can learn important information about the culture and history of the Eastern Anatolia Region on-site and have a better grasp of the facts about the Armenian issue in the light of academic information. The program, which was held for the first time this year between May 4-10, 2025, was attended by 40 young people residing abroad and receiving undergraduate, graduate and doctoral degrees.

The young people who attended the trainings given by the academicians of Kars Kafkas University and Van Yüzüncü Yıl University on the entry of Turks into Anatolia, the Armenian events of 1915 and Turkish-Armenian relations during the Ottoman period, then took part in city tours.

As part of the Eastern Anatolia Culture and History Program, young people visited the cities of Kars, Van, Ahlat, Malazgirt and Erzurum, visiting places that witnessed important events in history. They observed the architectural and cultural traces of the Old City of Van, Van Zeve Martyrdom and Ahlat Seljuk Cemetery with the help of an art historian, archaeologist, historian and guide.
