YTB President Abdullah Eren met with the governors of Aleppo and Latakia as part of his working visit to Syria.

Eren, who met with Aleppo Governor Azzam al-Gharib, who is also a Turkish graduate, drew attention to the importance of Aleppo from the past to the present in his speech. Eren, who stated that Aleppo was one of the central cities during the Ottoman period, emphasized that it was a very large and deep-rooted city. Eren, who stated that Aleppo will rise to its feet stronger than before with the new administration, congratulated the people of Aleppo for what they did during the revolution. Eren, who said that he has full faith that the new administration will bring Syria back to its feet, said, “Aleppo is the capital of our hearts. Aleppo was the provincial center during the Ottoman period. It is a very large and deep-rooted city. Hopefully, it will rise to its feet stronger than before under your leadership. The Syrian people have suffered a great hardship. We congratulate the Syrian people and society very much. This success is theirs. We in Turkey are very, very happy.”

Eren, who stated that they witnessed people in Syria walking freely and safely on the streets, said, “We had many Syrian friends and acquaintances in Turkey for 14 years. We had neighbors. We saw firsthand that Syrians are our brothers and that they are people of good character. In fact, we got to know each other again. We were together a hundred years ago, we were brothers. Yes, this war was very bad. But we saw that we are brothers again. Everyone in Syria is capable of doing the best. We are sure that Syria will be brought back to its feet by you. God willing, this transition process will continue very well. Security has been provided, this is very important. International legitimacy is also getting stronger day by day.”

Aleppo Governor Azzam al-Gharib also expressed his satisfaction with the visit. Stating that YTB has important projects for the sense of belonging of Turks living abroad to their homeland, Garib added that a significant portion of the Syrian people are also abroad and that they want to carry out similar work.

YTB President Eren also met with Latakia Governor Muhammed Osman as part of his contacts. In his speech here, he emphasized that the Syrian people have deserved this victory for many years. Eren, who stated that Turkish graduates will undertake important duties in the reconstruction of Syria, noted the following: “Seeing the Syrian people happy made us happy as well. One of the activities of our institution is to provide scholarship opportunities to international students at universities in our country. We have provided nearly 20 thousand scholarships to students coming from Syria to Turkey to receive university education. Our friends have completed their education. God willing, they will also contribute to the future of Syria. As of now, there is a very good trend. Stability has also been achieved in terms of security. We congratulate you. Your success will be the success of all believing Muslims.”

Latakia Governor Muhammed Osman also thanked YTB President Abdullah Eren for his contacts. Osman, who stated that they had received Turkey’s continuous support from the beginning of the revolution until the moment it took place, said, “You did not withhold any kind of help to the Syrians who migrated to your country, both here and to your country. You were particularly interested in health and other areas. You also made great efforts regarding their safety. You accepted seriously ill patients to your country without wasting any time, you extended a helping hand. The brotherhood of the two countries has been known from the past to the present. You especially provided scholarships to successful students who needed scholarships. I thank you on behalf of all the Syrian people.”
